NEW EMPLOYER LOCAL FRINGE BENEFIT REMITTANCE PLATFORM
The Trustees and staff of the Sheet Metal Local #10 Benefit Office are excited to announce the launch of our new state-of-the-art online platform for remitting your local fringe benefits. This platform is part of a new, all-encompassing benefits administration software system installation in the local Benefit Office designed specifically for union multi-employer benefit funds, contributing employers, and union employees.
For the past two years, we have been carefully preparing for this transition, conducting side-by-side transaction reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
This NEW secure web-based and highly automated system simplifies the entire remittance process, offering a significant upgrade over the previous system, which has unfortunately outlived its technological base. This platform improves efficiency, accuracy, and compliance while providing a user-friendly and convenient benefit remittance process.
We have uploaded the Webinar held on March 27, 2026 for those that were unable to attend or new employers who sign up in work in SMW Local #10's jurisdiction.

Beginning with the 2019 tax year and thereafter, federal law reduced the individual shared responsibility payment (tax penalty) to $0 if there were months in which you failed to maintain health insurance coverage. In other words, you do not need Form 1095-B to complete and file your personal income tax return and will no longer automatically receive Form 1095-B from the Fund

Effective 1/1/2024 the Sheet Metal #10 Benefit Fund transitioned to UMR, utilizing the UnitedHealthcare Choice plus network for provider selection as a replacement to using BlueCross BlueShield.
New Identification Cards with UMR/UnitedHealthcare as the new PPO have been sent to all participants and must be presented for any doctor, hospital, retail clinic, pharmacy visit etc.

Get same-day appointments from wherever you are from a certified clinician who can diagnose, treat, and even prescribe medicine if needed.
