Local 10 Supplemental Retirement

The Sheet Metal Local 10 Supplemental Retirement Fund (SRF) was created to help provide financial security to you and your family upon your retirement, death, or disability.  The benefits provided by the Plan are funded by employer contributions for workers covered by various sheet metal collective bargaining agreements.  This Plan is a Defined Contribution (DC) Pension Plan that provides for an available balance upon retirement. 

This is a self directed investment account and therefore requires your attention in order to take control of your retirement future. John Hancock is the record keeper for this fund. You should familiarize yourself with the multiple options provided by John Hancock for access, management  and service of your account.

What is a Summary Plan Description?

What is a Summary of Material Modification?
The Supplemental Retirement Fund (SRF) Summary of Material Modifications (SMM) include any changes made to the plan since the Summary Plan Description was last printed. If you view the SPD document make sure you also review the SMM. Please click on the link for the latest version of the Summary of Material Modifications.

There are limited options on accessing your account prior to retirement age, but please review the information below
I believe I'm eligible for a distribution and would like to request a distribution, what should I do?
First contact the Sheet Metal #10 Benefit Office to determine if you have met one of the eligibility requirements such as a separation of service.  You may then download the SRF Distribution Form and SRF  Tax Notice which you will find here.

I have heard about individuals talking about a Lump-Sum Distribution. What can you tell me about that?
A Lump-Sum Distribution is a big life decision which should take much consideration and contains a lot of "should's", "can's", "how's" etc.  Please click the link below to help aid in some of these considerations.
