GTAW/TIG Welding-Special

This 32-hour class is open to all members wishing to learn How to weld Stainless Steel (GTAW) and Aluminum and High-end welding processes. It will also lead into finishing/polishing stainless steel for Kitchen Equipment. Class will be held for 8 Tuesdays beginning October 14th. Bring a current union dues receipt to show the instructor.

Power Limited Technician Upgrade (PLTU)

Power Limited Technician Upgrade Class will be held on Tuesdays/ Thursdays, November 11, 13, 18, and 20 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. You must attend all four days to renew your license. Jeff Steiner will be the instructor for this 16-hour class. Upon arriving at the Training Center, enter through Door #2 and go to Room 122.

Heat Pump Installation Class

Duration: 4 Evenings (4 hours per night) 4:30-8:30 p.m.
Dates: Mon & Wed. October 13th,15th, 20th and 22nd
Skill Level: Apprentice to Journeyman

This hands-on, four-night training course equips participants with the practical skills and technical knowledge needed to install air-source heat pumps in both residential and commercial applications. The class also includes an overview and demonstration of water-source heat pump systems.

Designed for Apprentices and Journeymen, the course covers everything from system components and to safe installation practices, code compliance, and proper system commissioning. Participants will gain real-world experience working with heat pump systems and leave with the confidence to perform professional-grade installations in the field.

Gas Installation

4- Day class October 8, 15, 22 & 29 4:30pm-8:30pm
A Current Dues Receipt is mandatory to attend class.
To confirm your place in class, you MUST submit a deposit of $100 at Metro JATC Office & attend ALL NIGHTS in order have it returned to you.
 
Class is limited to 10 students, so please register and send your check now.
This is the hands-on portion of the gas piping; we will work with copper, sweging and brazing.  It will give you the skills in threading, flaring copper, and CSST pipe. We will also do some code work.
​
This 16-hour class will include the Gastite® and Wardflex® training programs as put on by the manufacturer’s representatives.  These three brands of corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) are the most prevalent in use in this part of the country for flexible fuel gas piping systems.  This class will include hands-on installation of tubing with black pipe fittings on a furnace and a pressure test.  Please note that the installers of gas piping must meet all state and local regulations and code requirements.
