In this 16-hour class, you will gain some advanced skills in soldering galvanized iron, stainless steel and copper. Lab time will be spent soldering in horizontal, angled and vertical positions. Materials and equipment used will reflect both shop and field conditions.

If you have a transcript for related schooling, please include it--it is helpful to their committee's approval process if they have as much information as possible.

This 16-hour class will focus on the proper method to calculate heat loss for a residential home using a Manual J workbook and spreadsheet. Information from the spreadsheet will be used to calculate the heat loss for each room, and the entire house. Duct design will incorporate information from the heat loss spreadsheet to design a duct system to distribute the correct amount of air to each room to satisfy the load. NOTE: This class qualifies for NATE Continuing Education Hours
We have scheduled a Load Calculation and Duct Design class to run on Tuesdays: 12/12, 12/19, 1/9, 1/16, (& optional 1/23) at the Training Center, Room 118, from 4:30 - 8:30 PM with Mario Salute. A current dues receipt is mandatory to attend class.

TABB Supervisor Prep Class

TABB Supervisor Prep Class Prerequisites:
1. Be a current dues paying member of Local 10.
2. Be employed by a contractor signatory to a collective bargaining agreement that provides for contributions directly to NEMIC, and the employer shall be current with all financial obligations under that collective bargaining agreement.
3. Meet all other ICB requirements and conditions of a supervisor, as reflected on the ICB supervisor application form. In addition to the eligibility requirements in Section 3.2 of this manual, the TABB Supervisor must meet one of the following criteria:
-Hold a college/university degree in engineering with at least one year of experience in HVAC installation or design work
-Hold a two-year associates degree in HVAC with at least three years of experience in HVAC installation or design work
-Hold an ICB-certified TABB Technician certification with five or more years of experience in HVAC installation or design work (which may include apprenticeship), at least one of which must include testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) work; or
-Have at least three years’ experience in TAB work and is recommended in writing for the exam by the applicant’s employer. The applicant's employer must be an ICB-certified Contractor or be eligible to be an ICB-certified Contractor except only for the requirements to employ an ICB-certified Technician and/or an ICB-certified Supervisor.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FOR PLAN PARTICIPANTS
The declared National Emergency related to Covid-19 ends on Thursday May 11, 2023. The National Emergency had compelled the Plan to provide 100% coverage for certain Covid-19 services related to diagnostic testing, anti-virals, vaccines and over-the-counter test kits.
The end of the National Emergency will impact the coverage of those Covid-19 related medical benefits under the Plan. While coverage for most benefits continues, how the Plan will pay for those benefits is reflected in the table below.
