​ Pension Fund

The Sheet Metal Workers’ National Pension Fund (“NPF” or “Fund”) is a defined benefit pension fund.  As a defined benefit plan, all Fund assets are held in one trust for the benefit of all participants. There are no individual accounts.  Except for very small amounts, benefits are paid in the form of a monthly annuity or monthly payment. The NPF is funded entirely by employer contributions and earnings on investments.  No employee contributions are permitted or accepted.

The Sheet Metal Workers’ National Pension Fund recommends that all participants complete a vesting application regardless of age and the length of time until retirement.  Completion of the form allows the National Pension Fund to provide an accurate statement of pension value on an annual basis and allows a participant to be better informed about the benefit.
